CAMBAGE LEADS SHANGHAI INTO WCBA SEMI-FINALS

Shanghai Dahua, led by Liz Cambage, has advanced to the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) Semi-Finals after an emphatic 2-0 series win in the Quarter-Finals against Bayi.

Continuing her stellar form from the regular season, Cambage collected 26 points in Game 1 of the Quarter-Finals as Shanghai won emphatically by 27 points.

She drained 8-9 from the field with six rebounds, three assists and a block in a starting role as centre.

Two days later, Shanghai swept the series with a 77-61 victory as Cambage again top-scored with a double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds.

She recorded three offensive boards, two assists, two steals and a block while she was fouled 12 times, leading to 14-17 shooting from the charity stripe.

Those numbers in Game 2 of the series are more reflective of her dominant season, in which she averaged 28 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in 33 games while hitting an incredible 69% from the field.

Shanghai will now play Xinjiang, with the Semi-Finals starting on February 16. The winner of that series will then face Beijing or Guangdong in the WCBA Finals.
