An association can choose to run Aussie Hoops at a school or at the stadium. Doing Aussie Hoops in schools is a great way to reach the largest market because every kid goes to school. The “In school program” can be during or after school time, can be a “one-off” session or weekly program. Aussie Hoops at the stadium can be either a holiday camp or a weekly program during the school term.
There are a plenty of activities you can do, handy session plans and activity cards mean that coaches, parents or even teenagers can easily run a session.
Kids develop their basketball and general motor skills through the “Game Sense” approach of modified drills and games. They are having so much fun they don’t even realise they are learning!
To become a registered Aussie Hoops association, associations need to take the following steps:
- Be affiliated with their state/territory association
- Express interest to their state/territory association
- Complete and sign an "Aussie Hoops Association Agreement"
- Follow the terms and conditions
- Commence the program!
If you would like to know more on any specific requirements please contact your state or territory association.
