The Jayco Opals Road to London

The Jayco Opals qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games after completing a comprehensive 3-0 series whitewash of the New Zealand Tall Ferns in the 2011 FIBA Oceania Championships for Women.

The Jayco Opals opened the series with a comfortable 77-64 win over the Tall Ferns in Melbourne in Game One.  Suzy Batkovic led the way with 21 points and eight rebounds while Abby Bishop added 15 points and eight boards.

In Game Two in Brisbane, the Jayco Opals ensured they would be on the plan to London with 92-73 victory as Batkovic starred once again with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Australia then ensured a series sweep in Game Three by running away to an 82-57 win in the final game in Sydney. Bishop had 21 points and eight rebounds in the final game for Australia to cap off a strong series.

The Jayco Opals snared Oceanmia's only automatic berth for London by taking out the series.
