Young Rollers duo ready for London
The 2012 London Paralympic Games is almost upon us and for basketball fans the excitement is beginning to reach fever pitch as our Rollers and Gliders go for Gold.
For our Rollers Men’s National Team heading to London as reigning Olympic Gold Medallists and favourites presents plenty of challenges, but winning breeds confidence and that confidence is evident right through the squad.
Having featured on the final podium in three of the past four Paralympics, the Rollers have created a model of success on the biggest stage, with the likes of Dylan Alcott and Jannik Blair leading the next generation.
A teenage prodigy, Alcott has been a mainstay in the Australian team since helping the team to Gold in Beijing four years ago. Still only 21, Alcott along with teammate and housemate Blair (20) are the exciting future of the Rollers.
The ABC caught up with the star duo prior to the team flying out for London. Check out this great insight into the world of Australian wheelchair basketball’s brightest young stars.
