Australian Schools Championships tip off December 6

08.11.10

The Australian Schools Championships will tip-off on December 6 in Bendigo, Victoria and will culminate with the finals on December 12. The draws for the Championship division for both the boys and girls competitions are now available.

The first Australian Schools Championship (formerly known as the National Schools Basketball Tournament) dates back to 1996 and now in its 15th year has seen this Championship being one of the most popular events on the basketball calendar.

This Championship along with all of our junior championships (U20’s through to U14’s) are a breeding ground for talent as Australia’s Stars of Tomorrow come from these very courts, a vital pathway not only for players but for coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers.

There will be plenty of high quality basketball action of offer throughout the week-long event with the National crown up for grabs not only in the Championship Division but also in a variety of senior and junior divisions as well.

Eight boy’s and six girls teams will compete in the Championships division and this year’s competition is wide open with both of the 2009 Champion schools not qualifying for this year’s competition.

The invitational divisions caters for boys and girls from senior and junior levels and registrations for the invitational divisions are still open and schools looking to nominate teams can do so by either downloading the registration form by clicking HERE or contact Bendigo Basketball on 03 5440 6213 or email them at sports.office@bendigostadium.com.au

Hello, We have 2 local college teams playing basketball, 1 girls and 1 boys U19 and are residing in New Zealand. We are looking for a tournament/school championship in 2011, where they can play against australian schools. This for development and competition. Can you give me advise who to contact and where in Australia we are best to go? Thank you so much!
