World Challenge and U18 3X3 a big success

20.07.12

Sydney Olympic sporting precinct is playing host to not only the Rollers and Gliders World challenge currently, but also the U18 Australian 3X3 championship, both events proving to be a smashing success.

The Rollers and the Gliders are both heading into the finals of the World Challenge, currently undefeated, with the Rollers beating Japan and Great Britain on their way to tomorrow's finals with contributions from all the big guns, including Tristan Knowles and Brad Ness.

The Gliders have had to face off against Germany, China and Japan and have been equally impressive on their way to a perfect record thus far, as they prepare for tomorrow's finals showdown, with Amber Merritt and Cobi Crispin among others leading the way.

The Australian U18 3X3 tournament has also proven to be a massive success.
Basketball Australia will be nominating a men’s and women’s team for the FIBA U18 World Cup which will be held later this year in Spain, with players for this event being chosen from the current Championship.

At present the VIC Metro Women and SA Men have gone through the tournament undefeated and look to be in the box seat to take it out, with finals also taking place this weekend.
