BOXSCORE
The Australian Under 17 women's national team have bounced back to win their second game of the world championships, beating Brazil 56-46 in Amsterdam.
Tiana Mangakahia led the Australians with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Alicia Froling added 10 points.
After suffering a disappointing first-up loss to Spain, the Australians looked like they might win a second straight game early after trailing Brazil 15-11 at the first break.
The Australian defence stood up in the second and third periods however, limiting the South Americans to just nine points in each quarter.
Australia led 43-33 at the final change and held strong down the stretch to win by 10 points and improve to 1-1.
The win was a confidence booster for the Australians, especially considering the victory came despite shooting just 19% from the field (11-of-59).
Their next game is against host nation the Netherlands at 3:00AM Monday morning Australian time.
