Stankovic Cup Team named

Some current NBL players and college stars have been named to an Australian Men’s Team to compete at the Boris Stankovic Cup.

Basketball Australia has named an Australian Men’s Team to compete at the Boris Stankovic Cup in Guangzhou, China.

The team, which will play against sides from Russia, Tunisia and China from 6 – 10 July, includes Adelaide 36ers NBL young gun Jason Cadee as well as Townsville Crocodiles players Mitch Norton and Todd Blanchfield.

Melbourne Tigers recruit Owen Odigie will also play for Australia on the trip.

Clint Steindl, who has enjoyed a stellar US college career and recently signed for the Cairns Taipans, has also been selected along with fellow college stars Cody Ellis and Hugh Greenwood.

The team will be guided by AIS coach and former Townsville Crocodiles leader Ian Stacker.

The Australians starts the tournament playing Russia on Friday 6 July, then takes on the host nation China on Saturday 7 July and Tunisia on Sunday 8 July.
